Nintendo XY

Designed in response to a thorough analysis of the contextual issues facing Nintendo as it moves into the future, XY aims to tackle growing issues such as child obesity and child solidarity.

I wanted XY to be a catalyst for play in the same way a simple football can be. The base station can be set up in any garden, field or playground, and the collectible balls enable many children to become involved with the games.

Infinitely programmable, XY contains games which encourage active play and joint participation. In answer to many of the issues XY aimed to tackle, Nintendo has since released the Wii, with many of the same interactive and inclusive qualities XY was intended to bring to the gaming market.
